Voltage Transformers

Current Transformers

This transformer is used when a voltage or current is too high for measuring directly.

Primarily, the current transformer is of three types.

Wound Type:

This type of current transformer consists of two separate windings, primary and secondary. These windings are available on a magnetic steel core with different turns, depending on the design

Toroidal (Window) Type:

This type of current transformer comes with no primary winding. Instead, it has an opening in the core. Through this core, the conductor that carries the primary load current is passed.

Bar Type:

Bar type current transformer utilizes the bus bar of the main circuit as the primary winding, which is equal to a single turn. It is completely insulated from the high operating voltage of the system and is generally bolted to the current carrying device.
