Solar Inverter Duty Transformer Manufacturers & Suppliers

At MACROPLAST, we manufacture Outdoor, Oil Cooled, Three Phase Solar Inverter Duty Transformers (IDTs) up to 20 MVA, 33 KV Class, engineered specifically for grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants. Designed to step up the low-voltage output of solar inverters (typically 800 V, Three Phase) to the medium-voltage grid level (11 KV / 22 KV / 33 KV), our Solar IDTs ensure efficient, safe and uninterrupted evacuation of solar power to the grid.

As one of the trusted Solar Inverter Duty Transformer Manufacturers in India, we design every unit around the harmonic spectrum and load profile of the inverter it will be paired with. In-house design, manufacturing and testing facilities let us match specific inverter OEM requirements — harmonic spectrum, dv/dt, DC bias and efficiency at partial loads — instead of adapting a standard distribution transformer to solar duty.

Being established Solar Inverter Duty Transformer Suppliers, we deliver reliable power conversion for utility-scale solar plants, solar parks and hybrid renewable projects, backed by prompt after-sales service and pan-India support.

What is a Solar Inverter Duty Transformer?

A Solar Inverter Duty Transformer is a special-purpose step-up transformer that connects the output of solar inverters to the medium-voltage distribution or transmission network. Unlike conventional distribution transformers, Solar IDTs are designed to handle:

  • Harmonic-rich inverter output – Solar inverters generate voltage and current harmonics that cause additional heating. IDTs are designed with enhanced insulation and low-loss core material to withstand this harmonic loading.
  • Multiple inverter inputs – IDTs are often built with two or more separate LV windings (e.g. 800 V – 800 V) to connect multiple inverters to a single transformer, with adequate electrostatic shielding between windings.
  • Fluctuating load cycles – Solar generation varies from zero to full load daily. Our IDTs are thermally designed for continuous cyclic loading without degradation.
  • Harsh outdoor conditions – Fully outdoor construction with weatherproof fittings, suitable for the high ambient temperatures, dust and humidity typical of solar sites.

Advantages of our Solar Inverter Duty Transformers

  • Designed for harmonics: Low-loss CRGO core and optimized winding design handle inverter-generated harmonics without overheating, ensuring long service life.
  • High efficiency at partial loads: Solar plants operate at variable output; our IDTs deliver excellent efficiency across the full load curve, maximizing energy yield.
  • Dual / multi LV windings: Connect two or more inverters to one transformer, reducing plant BOS (Balance of System) cost.
  • Electrostatic shield: Grounded shield between HV and LV windings suppresses high-frequency transients and protects inverters.
  • Robust outdoor construction: Weatherproof tank with corrosion-resistant painting, suitable for the toughest solar site environments.
  • Low losses, low maintenance: Oil-cooled design with proven sealing ensures minimal maintenance over the plant’s 25-year life.
  • Proven reliability: Type-tested designs, manufactured under strict quality control and routine tested as per IS / IEC standards.
